Meta Snapshot Updates
We’re not making any change to our meta snapshot this week. This is the final look we’re taking at the Shadows of the Galaxy meta. Next week we’ll have updates based on where we feel the Twilight of the Republic meta is headed.
The only tournament of note this weekend was the Orlando, Florida PQ which was won by Boba/Yellow. This tournament was planned for a couple weeks ago but had to be rescheduled due to Hurricane Milton.
Having Boba occupy 5 of the top 8 spots at the last major tournament of the meta seems a fitting end to a season that was supposed to be all about Set 2 – but wasn’t. The season was instead dominated by Set 1’s leaders and their higher power level. It’s striking to see how little the meta actually changed from where it sat at the end of Set 1. Sabine and Boba were never dethroned from their perches at that faster end of the meta. Qi’Ra and Bossk are new faces on the control end, but their archetype and main deck cards are largely unchanged from their predecessors.
Here’s hoping set 3 (and maybe some balance changes from FFG??) will change a meta that’s gotten relatively stale over 9 months of play.
