Meta Snapshot Updates
This week, we’re making three changes to our meta snapshot: two removals and one swap.
The first is removing Chancellor Palpatine from the snapshot. This deck is a personal favorite of mine, but I have to admit that it’s performance has not been at the level justifying its inclusion on the snapshot. There have yet to be any major tournament wins with it, and few top cut finishes. Furthermore, the blue version we’ve been repping has recently been supplanted by a red Triple Dark Raid version as the highest performing build. Bottom line: we’ll need more results to bring Palp back to the list.
Second, we’re removing Yoda/Blue from the list. While Yoda has much to recommend him, and the blue version is one of the few builds that can consistently beat Sabine (not a small achievement!), the results for our green friend simply haven’t been up to snuff. He has yet to win a major tournament and struggles into any deck that can ramp taller or control deeper. While there will always be players trying to keep the mill-first dream alive, we don’t believe that’s competitively viable.
Third, Quinlan is making a color and lane switch. While the green version of Q has powerful lines (like ramping into General’s Blade) the red version has an approach leveraging Tarkintown and Force Throw that’s proven more reliable in tournaments. We’re putting that red build into the same lane as Cad/Tarkintown that has a similar approach.

The week didn’t feature any major tournaments, but a few smaller win-a-[blank] events did occur. Worth shouting out is a local (to us) case event won by a Kylo/Yellow deck employing a lot of the tricks also used by Jango/Tarkintown. This is certainly a build we’ll have our eyes on!

I encourage all our readers to also check out SWU Competitive Hub, which does a great job keeping up with tournament results!

If you’re from the UK, Unlimited Power TCG does a good job keeping up with UK tournaments.
