Meta Snapshot Updates
This was the final of Planetary Qualifiers and the meta feels firmly established. We’re not making any changes based on this week’s results.

The end of the set 3 meta is a good time to look back and see how we did in anticipating how it would shake out.
Our initial set 3 tier list was necessarily optimistic in how set 3 leaders would perform, but <50% went on to have true meta success. Quinlan and Jango were meta staples (and seem poised to be again in set 4) but Yoda and Chancellor Palpatine made only minor waves. Anakin replaced Han and Rey as the primary Red/Blue/Hero, but the underlying archetype has been largely unchanged since the days of Chirrut in set 1. There was also some culling of Aggro/Hard Control decks as Sabine and Bossk consolidated their respective lanes.
Perhaps our biggest miss of the season was not ranking Bossk/Green as a meta contender at the outset. Its success this time around will give us pause in assessing that deck for future metas.
How is set 4 shaping up? There are a few breakthrough possibilities: Luke, Vader, Thrawn, Piett, Kaz. However, there’s no evidence yet that they’re going to give the powerful Tempo options of Han1 and Jango a real run for their money. What good is piloting a ship if it will be continuously exhausted by your opponent? Hopefully, in addition to the new set 4 tools we’ll get some minor tweaks to the meta from FFG as well.
