Last week was a big shakeup in the meta with the suspension of Jango Fett, Triple Dark Raid and DJ! We’re here to take a stab at the new meta with those pillars removed.
Besides the obvious removal of Jango, we’re adding two decks that were pushed out of the meta by his presence and switching colors for Admiral Piett.
Aggro decks struggled mightily under Jango’s cruel reign and Kazuda was no exception. Now that Jango is gone, Kazuda has tremendous speed that could be tapped by the meta. The red variant with the ability to use Heroic Sacrifice and Trench Run with no penalty seems like the leading contender.
The second deck we’re re-adding to the snapshot is Qi’Ra/Green. She’d been a serious presence in both the set 2 and 3 metas, so with Jango gone she might find her place in the meta again. With aggro back in town, all decks leveraging Overwhelming Barrage are likely to find new life.
We shifted Admiral Piett’s pairing to Yellow after it was only non-Jango deck to top 8 at the Milan Sector Qualifier. However, with the ban to Triple Dark Raid, that combination is unlikely to remain Piett’s best. The reason we’re going with Red is that it’s now the deck that seems best poised to utilize Devastator and Planetary Bombardment.
It’s likely the list will shift and expand over the coming weeks as the new flat and unsettled meta shakes down!
