Planetary Qualifiers for Jump to Lightspeed are now complete! The final week of results didn’t markedly change the meta.

Now that the results are in, let’s take a look back at where we started and see where we ended up. I’m going to be a forgiving to myself and compare against the post-Jango ban version of the meta.

The big miss here was the Jump to Lightspeed leaders themselves. We overestimated the impact that Kazuda and Piett would have. Boba ended up winning some PQs, but not in the color listed here (Green was the ticket). We also overestimated Han/Yellow’s ability to survive without DJ to threaten the opponent. Gar Saxon is a decent deck, but not a winning one.

Where I felt we got things right was in keeping the pillars of the meta where they belonged- Sabine, Quinlan, Qi’Ra, Cad Bane, Emperor Palpatine, and Anakin never went anywhere. The meta staples are going to be there until they rotate out.

The lesson for us from sets 3 and 4 is that we need to be more selective in what we let onto the snapshot from the new set. Not all the new hottness will be competitive. Given that there are only so many lanes for decks to compete in, Legends of the Force will likely only add 1-3 leaders to the list.

We’ll be back next week to debut our initial snapshot for set 5!
