Meta Snapshot Updates

This week we’re making five additions/subtractions to our Meta Snapshot.

First, is the addition of Palpatine/Green which won a $1K event in Iowa this week (more on that below.) This goes in our “soft” control lane where other ramp decks reside.

Second, we’re picking a side in the “which Han2 deck is best debate” by adding Han2/Red and removing Han2/Green. The red flavor has many powerful tools available to it including Poe, Wrecker and Wild Rancor which can all come out even after the Han player stops resourcing at 5. Meanwhile, the Red/Green is struggling with the rise of Triple Dark Raid decks which can use Lurking TIE Phantom to bypass most of its removal tools.

Third, we’re demoting one of three flavors of Sabine/Aggro by removing Sabine/Yellow from our list. Sabine/Green took a step forward in the SotG with the addition of Poe and Wrecker as powerful ECL targets, while Sabine/Red received Bo Katan and Chaos of War. Unfortunately for the Yellow flavor, it can’t take advantage of any of these tools.

Fourth, we’re working to parse the Villain/Blue/Green options and are starting by removing Iden/Green from the snapshot. While Iden/Blue continues to have a home in the hard control lane, the more ramp-focused version doesn’t have access to the Steadfast Battalion/ECL combo that benefits Krennic and Qi’Ra. This means it’s lacking the “unfair” play that sustains decks on our list.
